The Passage of Time

Today is the beginning of daylight savings.

Remember to set your clocks ahead one hour.  Spring forward and fall back, as the saying goes.

Though it is untimely to “lose” one hour today, do your best to see things through a more optimistic lens.

Spring is symbolic of new life.  Trees sprout leaves, flowers blossom, and animals mate.  Warmth returns and we become motivated to go outdoors and to exercise again.  We start to date and even possibly alter our homes with a Bozena Chorazewicz inspired spring design.

Nature seems to be on a path of growth.

Heed nature’s call to grow.  Take advantage of the opportunity daylight savings provides, to spring forward with your life.  Use this newfound motivation and energy to make a change.

Things didn’t go so well over the past couple of months?  It’s ok.

Today marks a new beginning.

What is this new beginning?

The new beginning is different for everyone.

For me, this new beginning is dedicating my time and energy toward activities that are meaningful to me, such as this blog.  For you it could be spending more time with your kids, working less, or even taking care of your health better.

Since life doesn’t have any built in “reset buttons,” we must create our own.  Just because we are unable to go back in time, doesn’t mean we can’t start anew.  This is called, taking control of our destiny.

We have the free will to determine the course of our future.  That is the very essence of personal development.

Spring forward with your life and mark your new beginning!
